*** Disclaimer: Ballet Rehab Coaching is designed for dancers who are navigating either an overuse injury or are dancers in their late stage injury recovery and have been cleared by their medical team to reintroduce dance participation again. During our discovery call I will determine if Ballet Rehab Coaching is a good fit for your immediate needs and goals!
What to expect during Ballet Rehab Coaching
I designed Ballet Rehab Coaching to close the gap between traditional physical therapy and full dance participation. This service is unique to Baseline Dance; it synthesizes my training as a professional dancer, my education as a physical therapist from a top-10 ranked physical therapy program, and my experience rehabilitating dancers at all levels, from baby bunheads at Nicklaus Children's Hospital to principal dancers at Miami City Ballet.

Step 1 of 7
Establish your baseline. We meet virtually to discuss goals, current challenges, and to assemble a plan of action. We explore why you may be having this experience and I share how to improve. This creates your dance participation baseline. I then create your plan of action and supportive resources.

Step 2 of 7
Learn. Review educational video content, complete journal prompts (for mind-body connection), review supportive resources on monitoring physical and mental workload.

Step 3 of 7
Dance! You get to take class! You follow modification recommendations until your tissue capacity improves...

Step 4 of 7
Progress safely. ... and you complete specific and individualized dance combinations prescribed to continue progressing towards dance goals safely when returning from injury.

Step 5 of 7
Strength Train and Recover with Intention. You complete recommended exercises to improve discovered deficits, 2-3x per week. Exercises are based on traditional strength training methods with 6-8 week blocks for programming. All exercises are supported by research, not social media trends, so you are guaranteed results.
You take care of yourself. You follow recommended cool down strategies to create an ideal healing environment to compliment your training.

Step 6 of 7
Maintenance Meetings Meet virtually 1:1 for 50 minutes with Dr. Lily to update resources, answer questions, and progress your plan of action. Together, we discuss what is “going well” and what “could be better” at each meeting. We fine-tune our plan and continue progressing. You receive updated resources and a written plan of action after each coaching session. We repeat this process until you have the skills developed to reach your goal or return to your previous level of performance!

Step 7 of 7
Return. Fully return as a stronger, smarter, and more resilient dancer than before.
In addition to reaching the goal, this structure improves my client’s autonomy and mindfulness with movement. I aim to create smart and resilient dancers that have a deep understanding of when to “push” versus when to scale back to emphasize body recovery tactics. I am not aiming to retain clients forever, instead, I want to instill the skills necessary for clients to flourish and be able to maintain a long, healthy, career in dance while I support them from the audience.
Dr. Lily (through Baseline Dance) is the only provider offering Ballet Rehab Coaching, our unique, independently-developed program for dancers.

Frequently asked questions
What can I expect during a discovery call?
Discovery calls are 1:1 for 20 minutes. During this time we discuss your goals, previous injury history, training volume and skill level, and discuss pathways you can take to make progress towards your goals. At the completion of the free discovery call, individuals will have a better understanding of next steps they should take to foster dance career longevity.
Do you work with dancers that specialize in non-ballet styles for Rehab Coaching?
Yes. However, I want to confirm I'm the right fit for your needs. Please book a discovery call for us to review your questions and options.
Can I commit to just one Ballet Rehab Coaching session?
Yes, however my goal is to help you reach your goals. When returning to the studio following an injury-related setback I strongly recommend continuous weekly or biweekly coaching. We know that the human body is incredibly resilient, but musculoskeletal tissue adaptation takes time and progressive loading.
I am a dancer who has been referred to physical therapy. Can I work with you?
It depends. While the majority of the time the answer is yes, I want to confirm if I am the right fit for your immediate needs. My model is designed to support dancers who have already been cleared by their medical team to reintegrate into the studio setting. Please book a discovery call for us to review your questions and options.
How do I book a package for Ballet Rehab Coaching?
After the discovery call, Baseline Dance will email you information for onboarding, scheduling, and billing. If you do not see this email in your inbox or spam within 24 hours, please contact us for assistance admin@baselinedance.org.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
No. Ballet Rehab Coaching is provided through a virtual model to maximize time and access to resources for the community.
If I book a package, do sessions have to be booked on a fixed schedule?
Nope! I know dancers are busy, so I allow you to book whenever works for you. I may recommend a follow-up frequency, but I always encourage my clients to make autonomous decisions that will serve them best.
Do packages expire?
Clients have 12 months from the date of purchase until their sessions expire.
