Lily is a Dance Medicine Physical Therapist based in Miami, Florida. Growing up, Lily was formally trained in ballet, jazz, tap, modern, and improvisation at the Inwood Performing Arts Company in Inwood, West Virginia. During the summer months Lily trained at the American Academy of Ballet, Maryland Youth Ballet, GloATL, Ballet San Jose, and on full scholarship with Ballet Austin, the Orlando Ballet School, and Joffery Ballet School. Lily graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Modern Dance from the University of South Florida in 2018, where she studied under Michael Foley, Paula Nuñez, John Parks, Andrew Carroll, Jeanne Travers, Andee Scott, Bliss Kohlmyer, Osmany Montano, and Merry Lynn Morris.

While at USF, Lily had the opportunity to perform works by Jeanne Travers and Paula Nuñez at the Beijing Dance Academy in China, and represent the USF dance program at the American College Dance Association’s conference in 2018, where she performed a five minute self-choreographed solo “Noun”. Lily is a recipient of the William Hug Scholarship for excellence in choreography, the Hope Rietschlin Scholarship for excellence in performance, and multiple talent grants. Following graduation from USF, Lily was invited to join the Tampa City Ballet as a principal dancer and modern dance instructor of the Tampa City Ballet Dance School. Highlights during her time with TCB included performing as the lead in “If I Cry”, an evening length production inspired by Frida Kahlo’s life story and diaries.

With a deep appreciation for movement composition, body mechanics, and pedagogy as a dancer, Lily chose to expand her skillset as a movement practitioner by pursuing a Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Miami. Lily graduated with honors in May 2023; her training as a dancer translated into the ability to efficiently analyze, process, and embody movement as a physical therapist. Lily works full-time as a Sports Medicine Physical Therapist at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital where she treats adolescent dancers and provides dance injury prevention lectures to the Miami dance community. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science.

Lily founded Baseline Dance with aspirations to provide dance medicine education to professional and freelance dance artists, collegiate and university dance students, and dance educators. While simultaneously making dance medicine research more comprehensible and accessible to dancers on a global scale. Lily greatly enjoys combining both passions to advocate for dance artists, promote healthy training environments, and provide individualized one-on-one attention to dancers rehabilitating from an injury.

When she is not in the clinic or studio, Lily enjoys spending time with her friends and family, painting, attending dance performances, playing beach tennis with her fiancé, Luciano, and reading mystery books.
